Exfoliate, Wash, and Put on a Mask
If you have been following our blog, you know we are big into exfoliation. Use the Reveal Exfoliating Foam Wash, or just cleanse your face deeply with a powerful sonic brush. These brushes can be used with any cleanser, so feel free to use your fave natural wash.

Have a Milk Bath
While we are dairy free at Ayr Skin Care, another great DIY spa day idea is to give yourself a coconut milk bath. All milks, including coconut, have a wonderful skin softening quality about them, and have been used throughout the ages to promote younger, softer skin.
Simply add some ingredients to a bathtub and hop in!
- Get a 15 ounce can of coconut milk OR 2 cups of dried coconut milk powder. If you’re using any other type of cow, goat, or other milky product, use similar amounts.
- Add the milk to your bath and mix completely.
- Enjoy relaxing in the bath for 15 -20 minutes. End your DIY spa day by locking in all of that moisture with our Tranquility Dry Body Oil! The scent is very relaxing, and you will have silky smooth skin all day long!
Using Essential Oils & Epsom Salts
Whether you’re making your own DIY spa day face mask or lounging in a relaxing bath, it’s always a great idea to add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. We like lavender because it’s fantastic for the skin, as well as being relaxing for the mind. Other potent oils include rose oil, chamomile, bergamot, and neroli oil — which are all great for your skin. You want to avoid oils that tingle like peppermint or eucalyptus.
A great addition to any bath is a ½ cup of Epsom salts. Epsom salts are rich in magnesium, which has been known to relax muscles and promote a good night’s sleep. You may add Epsom salts into the milk bath, or use it alone.
Creating a Spa Environment
To create a comprehensive DIY spa day experience, you should transform your entire space into a spa-like environment. Light a candle, play some relaxing music, or simply sprinkle rose petals into your bath.
