Shipping and Returns

How are my products shipped and how much does it cost?

Orders of $75 or more are shipped free-of-charge within the United States.

Orders can take up to 2 business days to process. For West Coast orders, delivery is usually 3-4 days from shipping. For East Coast orders, delivery is usually 7 days from shipping.

Please note - International shipments may take longer due to increased processing times involved in shipping overseas.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, we ship to several different countries. If your country is not on the list of available countries during the check out process please contact us and we can determine if it is possible to ship to that country. All International shipping is provided by United States Postal Service.

What is your return policy?

We know you’ll love our products, but if for any reason you need to make a return, we will promptly provide a refund. We do require that you notify us at info@ayrskincare.com before the end of the first 30 days and we will issue you a return authorization. We also ask that you ship the item back to us within 15 days of receiving your return authorization, so that we can process your refund.

Where and how are your products made and packaged?

Our products are made and packaged in small artisanal batches for complete quality control at our manufacturing facility in beautiful Southern California, USA.

Why are some of your products packaged in airless bottles?

Products such as serums have several benefits when the air is kept away from the contents. Because oxidation can lead to spoilage, keeping the product in an airless environment extends shelf life. This packaging also keeps out bacteria by reducing direct contact with the environment, as well as hands and fingers. When your bottle arrives, the pump may need to be pushed and primed before it begins dispensing.

Do you give samples?

We typically include samples in every order.

How should I store my products?

Store products away from excess moisture, sunlight, and heat. Bars should be kept in a soap dish or on a clean, dry washcloth to extend their life.

I have a nut allergy – do you use nuts?

A high percentage of “nut” allergies are based upon an intolerance of peanuts, which botanically are not a “nut.” However, we do not use peanuts or other legumes in any of our formulations.

We do have nuts in some of our products. We use marula oil, macadamia nut oil, kukui nut, almond oil, among others. Please contact us with any specific allergy related questions.

We also have coconut oil, which is identified by the US FDA as a “tree nut” for consumption labeling. We use shea butter, which is not identified as a “tree nut” by the FDA, but both of these well- tolerated nuts are low-risk allergens. Always check with your physician/allergist whenever there is a concern about nut, peanut, or ny other allergy. A skin patch test is always a good idea before trying any new product.

Note: We cannot guarantee that our suppliers do not have peanuts or any other nut in their processing plants.

Are your products organic?

We use organic, carefully sourced natural ingredients, and in some products, safe synthetic ingredients. Certified organic products are identified in the ingredients list. However, it should be noted that we source the purest natural products available, and many would likely earn the organic label if they went through the expensive certification process governed by the USDA.

Do you use preservatives?

Yes, any product with water, aloe, or other liquid in their ingredients list must have a broad spectrum preservative. This preservative addresses fungus, mold, and other microbiology “bugs.”

Often, you cannot see the organisms that cause harm. Many companies hide their preservatives in the ingredients lists — some by using the term “fragrance” which can encompass many ingredients under that title. Furthermore, ingredients that sound “natural” can have parabens or other unlabeled preservatives in them. Our method is to use a very small amount of preservatives (less than 0.5%), chosen to be non-irritating and free from parabens.

Do you use synthetic products?

Yes, we actually do use carefully chosen synthetic products when appropriate. Just because ingredients have been created in a lab does not necessarily make them evil. Some synthetics, like peptides, have wonderful anti-aging properties, are safe to use, and can help rebuild and nourish the skin.

Don’t let the long, chemical-sounding names confuse you. Rest assured, we’ve done all the detective work for you to bring you the best ingredients available.

How long will my products last?

You’ll find that you don’t need to use a lot of our product to achieve beautiful results. So many of our products should last several months before you need to replenish. 

Are your products gluten free?

As an avid follower of the Paleo lifestyle, our founder, Kirsten Thomas, is an anti-gluten detective. She ensures that all of the ingredients in Ayr Skin Care products are carefully researched and chosen from gluten and grain free sources.

We also know that many grains, such as oats, can cause cross contamination. Ayr Skin Care uses small amounts of rice bran oil in some formulations. Kirsten uses these skin care products every single day without experiencing any problems or reactions.

However, everyone is different and we recommend that those with gluten intolerance conditions test a small area of the skin or check with their physician about potential reactions.

Do you use fragrances?

Ayr Skin Care never uses synthetic or artificial fragrances of any kind in our formulations or products. Instead, we let our wonderful, natural ingredients speak, or smell, for themselves. The natural aromas found in our essential oils, fruit acids, butters, and floral essences are chosen for their spa-like relaxation and rejuvenation properties.

Are your products tested on animals?

Not only are our products NEVER tested on animals, but whenever possible, our worldwide sourcing protocol seeks out vendors that do no harm to their environments or indigenous species.
